ADATA Acronis won't accept the key given to me by Acronis

Thread needs solution

I purchased an ADATA SP550 SSD that was supposed to include a free copy of Acronis True Image.

I've gone through all the steps needed to download the software, register the drive, register the software and obtain a 71 character key from Acronis.

The software installs fine, yet when I start it the Activate Now button is greyed out even though I've entered the key properly.

How do I correct this issue?

You can try contacting Acronis support but not sure if they'll be able to help since the license came from a third party.  I've heard of people buying drives for the licenes, registering them and returning the hardware which gets repackaged but the licenses are already taken - could be the case.  If you can show Acronis proof of purchase of your drive though, you might get lucky.  Otherwise, you'll probably have to hash it out with Adata.

Are you sure you're using the correct installer?

I purchased an ADATA SP550 480GB SSD a few months ago and had no issue installing and activating True Image HD 2013.  The installer in the link above is the one that worked with the key provided with my SSD.

Note that the version of Acronis this program is based on does not support Windows 8.1 or later.

That looks like the same software I downloaded.

My drive did not come with a key. I had to register online before I got the key.
