Adding drivers to rescue disk or rescue USB stick with ATIH 2010

Thread needs solution

My two boot drives are both hooked up to a Marvel SATA 3 (6Gb/s) controller. The are not RAID just two versions of WIN 7-64 with different Apps installed. So the ATIH 2010 recuce CD does not recognize or sees the drives connected to the SATA 3 controller on my ASUS Rampage III Extreme Mobo.

How can I add the necessary drivers when burning the CD as there seems to be no prompt to do so. Or do I add them during the rescue boot process similar to what Windows does during the install process?

Thanks,
Kurt

You can't add drivers to the Linux CD. You can download a newer version by logging in to your account to see if the newer version works. The other option is to use the BartPE plugin http://kb.acronis.com/content/1506. Its a free download from your account. If you have the Pluspack you cna build a WINPE based recovery CD which has thousands of drivers already installed. See http://kb.acronis.com/freelinking/Creating%2520WinPE%2520ISO%2520with%2….

I was actually quite interested in the Pluspack and will have to purchase & give that a try.

Thanks.

See http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9449 for a tutorial on building a WINPE ISO using the Pluspack.

Although this is not covered in the tutorial, you can add any drivers to the WinPE bootable media itself (if they are not already there as thomasjk points out). Then you don't need any separate "driver library" CD (or other) when using Universal Restore.
