Adding an external USB hard drive

I have installed an external USB hard drive on my computer. Acronis apparently thinks it is now on a new computer (too many activations) and wants a new licence number. How can I fix this?

Hi William,

Adding a new device (like a disk) to your computer doesn't normally trigger an activation request.

If you are experiencing incorrect activation behavior, I would recommend going through the activation process again. Same computer and so forth.

If you receive the dialog repeatedly after successful activation you can perform a repair install, or uninstall and reinstall the product. Worst case you may try using the move feature in the activation dialog which will disassociate your current install with the activation server and require you to activate again.
