After a BIOS update.

Thread needs solution

I have recently installed Acronis 2010 to run on Windows 7 Home Premium. I needed more RAM so extra was fitted yesterday. The new RAM would not run on the old BIOS, so the shop also upgraded the BIOS. My question is, due to the new BIOS version, will I need to make a new Acronis boot up disk, and will the back ups that I have on file, made under the old BIOS still install if required, or should I delete them?

You shouldn't need to create a new TI CD and the existing backup images should still be okay.

However, since you have made changes to the computer, it would be a good idea to boot to the TI CD and validate your images.

You might also want to run MEMTEST overnight to verify the new RAM is working properly.

Thanks for the reply. I will certainly run MEMTEST, but I can see a real difference on the computer. I had 2 GB PC5300 of ram, now I have 4GB PC6400,(3.5 useable), and everything is flying.
