After cloning both ssd not working

Thread needs solution

hey!

i tried to clone a win7 System from one ssd to another. after that win7 wont boot on both ssd's. a short errror occured: memtest.exe currupted or so. when i put the ssd in another System to Format it or to repair the boot section, both ssd wont Show anymore. i tried to search them in the System configuration and disk Management - not appearing. then i tried to do a System recovery with the original System DVD (as recommended everywhere in the Internet) but the DVD starts but the System keeps shutting down and booting from DVD before i can get to a single menu.

so what can i do? it seems like both ssd's are dead now...

help would be nice, greets, phil.

That is unfortunate, but you are the example we always talk about. Cloning can go wrong, and when it does, it can ruin both the source and the destination disk. This is why we always recommend to do a disk backup before cloning...

Back to fixing your problem... So, you are saying you cannot boot the computer on the Windows installation DVD (I guess this is what you call the System DVD)? If System DVD means a recovery DVD, it might be looking for a recovery partition that it cannot access any longer. You need the Windows Installation DVD.

hey! backup and files are no Problem. it's suppose to be a clone of OS disk with all installed programs. i am working on a hp z620 Workstation on which i just installed the System and programs all new (took me more than one day). And now i just wanted to clone the System disk to avoid future complete installations because as a busy filmmaker and graphic designer i cant waste a whole day watching Installation columns from Zero to hundred percent ;-)...

i bought a brand new crucial 200MX ssd on which the clone-attempt took place. is it garbage now? anyways - i just have the original hp win7 System recovery DVD which came with the Workstation. will it not work with that?

just in case - i got a original Windows XP DVD - should i give it a try with that? i mean, i am at the Point to want the ssd back - with or without a proper System on. just to be recognised by the System...

UPDATE: Tried the WinXP Installation disk - not working. I made a Win7 Rescue Disk that worked but no drive was detected. I tried to see if the bios recognizes the ssd in first place. but the hp z620 seems to be a Special case. it wasn't possible to enter the bios, and there are no informations in the WWW how to. I mean... then i tried it in another win7 System - the bios doesn't recognizes the ssd there with every necessary Option enabled. i guess thats it. My new SSD is a Piece of GARBAGE. Buy - Unpack - Acronis Clone - throw away!
