After disabling NSB scheduled task will not run
TI 2010 b5055.
Yesterday evening, I switched off NSB. Today my scheduled image task did not run, it showed Queued as the status. Right clicking on the task and choosing Start did nothing, nor did choosing Start from the Menu bar.
Rebooted computer, scheduled task now showed status as Idle. Selectng start by either methods resulted in no response.
Re-enabling NSB caused the scheduled task to become queued again whilst the NSB task ran.
The progress indicator under status in the scheduled tasks panel, does not update live as the balloon one on the system tray does.
Screenshot attached, this is after NSB had stopped running. The scheduled task reports another process is under way, which it isn't because NSB has finished it's backup.

Do we have to run Nonstop Backup? I don't want that and would like to turn it off but I need my other scheduled tasks to run.

No, no need to switch NSB on if you don't want it.

Please do the following:
- Download the http://www.acronis.com/files/support/schedmgr.exe file ;
- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:
schedmgr task zap
schedmgr service stop
schedmgr service uninstall
schedmgr service install
schedmgr service start
This should delete all the scheduled tasks on the PC. You should manage your scheduled tasks from the scratch.
Also please make sure that Acronis Scheduler2 Service (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services) Startup Type is set to Automatic. Otherwise, please set it to Automatic yourself and reboot your computer.
I did this, deleted my old backups (thus wasting the last 2 weeks of labor trying to get ATI 2009 and now ATI2010 to work correctly) and recreated my 2 backups: a system backup that runs at Midnight and a file backup that runs a couple hours later. I used the "run now" checkbox to make the system backup run immediately but did not do that for the file backup. The system backup ran immediately and ran again on schedule. The file backup still said "Queued" the next morning when I got up. It did not run at scheduled time.

I don't have NSB turned on but the service is running and is set to Automatic. I'd prefer to turn the service off if it is not needed.
But this is a question for the future, I guess. I'd need to get this software running correctly before I bother trying to optimize it :(

TI2009 in an early build had a problem with tasks commencing at midnight if I recall correctly (it might have been TI11).
Try scheduling the task for about five past midnight and see if that makes a difference.
If you know you are never going to use either OLB or NSB then you can disable the service.

The task I have scheduled at midnight does run. The other task is the one that doesn't. See update below.

thanks.
Update on my scheduled task not running problem: If I create a scheduled task and, before finished, go back and check the "run task now" checkbox (forgive the wording, I'm not at that computer), the task runs immediately and then runs on schedule. If I don't have that box checked, the task never leaves "queued" status and never runs. When I posted above, I noticed that the difference between the working and non-working task was that I ran one immediately, so I create yet another scheduled task [ note: this is ridiculous, I've done this over a dozen times in the last 3 weeks as I've struggled to get this software to work ] but made sure the "run immediately" box was checked and set the time for this afternoon (because I didn't want to have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if this worked). The task ran immediately and then ran on schedule this afternoon.
So it appears that I have to run the task immediately when creating it or it will never leave "queued" status.

There is anothing you can try - take a deep breath and....... delete all your tasks from within TI, then wander off to where the task scripts are kept, and make sure they are all physically deleted.
Then remake all your tasks.
Occasionally remnants of the non working task don't get physically deleted, so whatever has upset TI is always available to carry on confusing it.
If you have XP the tasks are at : C:\Documents and Settings\your log on\Application Data\Acronis\backup scripts
Vista and W7: C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts

All of the previously added tasks were all deleted and gone. The only 2 that are in the folder you list are my 2 daily tasks that are both now running as noted above.
So, finally, after slightly over 3 weeks, 2 versions, 3 installs, and way over a dozen attempts, I now have both of my backups running correctly.
Unfortunately, I don't really have much faith in them. How can I really be confident that my backups will actually work if needed when I know how buggy this software is?

Does this download and solution apply to TIH2009? I am uninstalling and reinstalling for this same problem, but I am not sure to which version this download applies.
