After installing True Image 2015 my computer won't boot

Thread needs solution

I installed a purchased copy of True Image 2015 yesterday evening, and performed one backup of the C drive to an external hard drive. I must admit I left the Acronis disc in the DVD drive if that makes any difference

This morning my computer won't boot, and I get the message,"The boot selection failed because a required device is inacccessible". In addition, it advises to insert the Win 7 installation disc, restart, and select "repair your computer." Well, with the Win 7 OS disc in the DVD drive, the computer still won't boot. Nor will it boot if I install the boot disc I made when I first loaded Win 7.

Bruce,
First, did you enable the ASR - Start Up and Recovery Manger during or after installing Acronis? This is the feature where you are asked to press F11 optionally at boot time.

If no, please enter your system BIOS and ensure the devices in your Boot Order Options are correct... CD/DVD, Hard Disk... etc. Lets ensure your system is in fact trying to boot from the correct device. Leaving the install CD In the drive will not affect or impact your system.

I had the same problem in Win 8.1

My PC locked up and I could not boot.

Luckily I still had the original C drive which I had previously updated and reinstalled it

I believe the problem is associatted with the target drive.

I am now concerned about using Acronis on any of my PC's too bad because I have used earlier versions with no problem

BTW I am using the latest 2015 version.

I have tried to get help but so far everything I try draws a blank.

Best of Luck.

Thanks. No I didn't enable the ASR. I just installed and did a C: drive backup to an external hard drive. Which is why I bought the software. I didn't do anything else. I can't access the BIOS without being able to get into the computer itself. Any suggestions? Althought I'm not illiterate in operating a computer, I know nothing about the Function keys and how to get into safe drive, boot sequence, etc.

Thanks for replying, and if you can supply more information that would be very helpful. Usually I look this up on Google, but .......

Thanks much, problem fixed. I just had to get into the BIOS list and select the DVD, to allow the Win 7 OS installation disc to boot the computer.
