After upgrading to acronis 2014 from 2012 microsoft windows 7 no longer works.

I have been using acronis backup software for some time now. I had 2010 then upgraded to 2012 and just now 2014 . The installation went without any problems. acronis 2014 seems to be functioning fine except the when backing up the initial checking size requires takes way to long now but that is not the problem I am asking about. I also like to take Microsoft windows backups to. I am anal like that. You can never have to many backups. I have Microsoft windows 7 ultimate. After upgrading to acronis 2014 I could no longer use windows backup at all. When clicking on the link for it , it would do nothing. Then I looked at the windows services and see that the service for windows backup had been changed to manual. I started the service and tried the backup again. Now it immediately brings up acronis 2014 software and asking which file do I want to convert from acronis to windows backup format. I don't want this.... I just want to backup with windows 7. How do I fix whatever acronis 2014 has done to the registry for the windows backup software?
