Align Acronis Image
ok here is my issue:
i have a partition on a raid control that i have an image of. it is on a areca 1880 raid card. Unfortunately Areca uses the first bit of the partition for its own purposes (raid set info) so it uses those blocks for itself.
This leads to an alignment issue, the alignment has to be modified specifically for this device.
I need to align with a 992 kb offset.
Problem is, I have an image off of this very controller that is unaligned, how would i go about aligning it when i restore the image?

so you create the partition, and then restore the image to the partition, but doesnt that resize the partition automatically? I thought that ATI would just restore the partition to the size it was automatically?
so just create partition manually with 3rd party software (or windows) then install image?

Correct. Remember, you need then to restore the individual partition (s), not the entire disk: do not select MBR + Track 0 as you restore the individual partition (s). After you have restored the partition(s) on the target, manually set partition(s), you do NOT need to restore the MBR + track 0 unless you have a special MBR (dual boot, hidden recovery partition, etc.)
