always does a FULL backup instead of the incremential that is setup.
True Image 2013.
I am trying to do a file backup to a NAS drive (LaCie cloudbox)
I've set a daily schedule and an incremental backup option.
For the initial backup which takes almost a day to do I connect the LaCie directly to my router.
This speeds the whole backup process up as the device is physically closer to my desktop.
Thereafter my LaCie is connected a small distance away and connected onto the win7 home network.
The problem is that when the incremental backup kicks in the following day it wants to do a full backup again. This is major annoying. Why o why won't it do an incremental?
I have tried this time and time again.
I am fully used to the program and use it ok with all my other backups just fine. I just can't get it to backup correctly to this network disk. It insists in this constant full backup every time.

Thanks but some further clarity is required ..
the path in the path directory is exactly the same. it appears as such under 'location'
it's on an internal home network.
I use a tplink internal home network system. the way these things work is the closer the physical items are to each over the faster the transfer speed.
therefore I position the item physically closer on the initial full backup. (otherwise it states it will take a 'week' to do the backup). I then thereafter re position the NAS drive physically further away for the incrementals. as far as the network is concerned it remains the same path.

UPDATE - if I set the backup as a STANDARD incremental backup then it works as expected.
if I do a CUSTOM incremental backup then it behaves as above. wanting to do another full backup each time.

The program recognizes that the disk is attached differently as one backup is via the router (wired) and the other is via the home network (perhaps wirelessly) which makes the paths prior to the folder name to differ.
The only solution I see is a different task for each connection point--but then again, I could be wrong. I am not familiar with your storage device.
Perhaps others can comment.
Edit: regarding the ones that work or don't work.
My guess is that the task that works correctly has the disk in the same location as when task created.
The backup which works wrong has the disk attached via the alternate location.
