Is it normal to get an error when backing up Applications setting for the Office products when one of those products is open?

I wonder because my backups always fail if I have 1 of those open, like if I have Excel open when the backup for Application settings runs.

For a long gtime I didn't even have this option, then it suddenly appeared. Never works though. Always claims I have something open even after a clean boot with just TI running. Can't see why it doesn't back up the apps that it doesn't think are open though.
