Apricorn Uninstalls Acronis 9.0

Thread needs solution

Recently upgraded my hard drive. First attempted to clone with Acronis 9.0 but was having trouble. Purchased Apricorn EZ Gig II drive housing that came with its' 10.0 version software.

Apricorn software, when installing, uninstalled Acronis 9.0 code. After launching Apricorn code I noticed the similarities of the menus in it and knew right away this must be a scaled down version of Acronis. After checking on the web about this that was the case.

As I do not have support any more with Acronis and can not ask them directly what to do I'll ask this here.
My question is:
The Apricorn backup code is very similar to the True Image 9.0 but does not allow for incremental backups. Should I just reinstall True Image 9.0 over the Apricorn software or should I first uninstall the Apricorn code and then reinstall the Acronis software?

Thanks.

Hello Alan,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

Apricorn software is customized product based on Acronis True Image with some limitations in functionality.

I may recommend you completely uninstall Apricorn software first then install full version of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home. I may also recommend you to have a look at our current version of the program Acronis True Image Home 2010. It has a lot of improvements and overall is more stable than previous versions of Acronis True Image.

You can download free trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 and test it.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Thank you for the information Dmitry.

I plan on staying with ver. 9 until I bring my computer up to Windows 7 (from Vista) as v9 is working fine and is very stable for me.

Alan
