ATI 11 always fails saying can not read sector xxxx on Win7 towards almost completion of the backup

Thread needs solution

I am having ATI 11 backup fail every time I try it - Win 7 rather small size C: partition backup.
Fails just towards the end of the backup operation saying Can not read from sector xxxxx of hard drive 1
0x10C45A CRC Error 0x100155.
I have contacted ATI and they have not been able to fix my issue. I am hoping the user community can explain what is causing the issue. I have checked the disk for any errors there are none. It is the ATI s/w.
I have updated the snap API again and again.
Just before quitting using ATI, I am trying my last attempt. I have spent more time than the cost of the ATI software.
If anybody has a solution, pls. let me know. I used to get similar errors in ATI 10 so paid money to upgrade to ATI 11. Their software has always had an error.
Thanks,
Shrikant

shrikant,

How big is your disk? The fact that the error always happen at the same spot indicates a drive issue.
Did you use chkdsk /r on each partition of your disk?
Did you try to use spinrite to check your disk? Sometimes ATI finds errors on the disk that chkdsk /r cannot find.
