ATI 12 Backup File Names

Thread needs solution

ATI v12, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

i've upgraded from ATI 10 to 12 and noticed that i am not able to customize the archival backup file name in 12 the way i could in v10. i have several partitions on my hard drive and for all of them, except my C drive, ATI uses the partition name as the file name. for example all of my data is in a partition (Drive N) called DATA FILES. when i backup that partition the resulting file name is 'Data Files_(N).tib'. when i backup the C drive the resulting file name is 'My_partitons.tib'.

question: why the difference and is there any way to change the file name?

You can set the name of the backup files when creating your tasks. You must "browse" to the location where you want the files to be created, and you can enter you own file name there. The name of the task and the backup file name do not have to be the same. Please take a look at Grover's Guide (thanks, Grover) for backing up using 2012: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/28705
