ATI '13 Recovery tells me to restart but recovers nothing
I have a new windows 8 PC. Latest backup with Adronis TI 2013 was Aug 25, 2013 to an external HD. The PC had problems a couple f days later and went back to manufacturer which restored the PC to original image as new out of the box. I want to recover my content and system setup with Acronis TI 2013. I downloaded the program, reentered KEY and the program located my backup. Selected recover. After doing its thing for a couple of minutes I got a message box saying I must restart my computer of the recovery will be cancelled. I selected restart. the PC restarted and I logged back in and NOTHING. SAME OLD EVERYTHING I STARTED WITH. Did this several times with dame results. what's up? How do I get the backup to restore!? I've tried both Drive and disk modes.
Is it recovering in the background without any sort of indication? (HD light isn't very busy.)

Any restore of your system drive is best done when booted from the ATI Rescue Media. Data partitions might be restored within Windows (though I'd still prefer the Rescue Media), but restoring your C drive from within Windows is not recommended.

This gets complicated. I do have an ATI rescue disk but it doesn't boot when I start the PC, it just goes to windows. I went to the BIOS to reset the boot order but to do this I have to enable legacy booting (something to do with a windows 8 security system). I did this just once before - just before my PC sh*t the bed. Couldn't get into the BIOS again or start Windows. So, I'm a little leery of making that change. Maybe someone can enlighten me on safely getting the boot sequence changed so I can boot from the DVD-CD drive.
