ATI 2009/Vista Ultimate Problems...again! Help!!

Thread needs solution

Since buying this software I have done three full images of my system.
Only the first one completed without any warning or error messages!
My latest attempt has the following (Informative?) messages: -
1) WARNING! Priority changed to high.
On my last image same warning, but text was "changed to low".
I'm lead to understand that this is something of a "none event!" since it is merely stating that I've altered the system resource allocation.

The more worrying error messages were: -
2) ERROR! "Operation has completed with errors".
The only explanation at the bottom of the screen says
"Event #: 23 Module:100 Error (code) 5(0x640005)".......helpful!

3)ERROR! "Cancelled (0x4000F)| Tag = 1xD8EAB676A3F6849"
in the lower window it says: -
"Error (Code): 15(0x4000F) Event#: 22 Module: 4 Message: Cancelled (0x4000F) Tag = 0..."

The meaning of all of which totally escapes me....
Am I expected to know what this gibberish means?

Is there some way I can capture the 23 entries of the log so I can post the detail here for some help?

OK.

As you say #1 ignore.

#3 Did you cancel the task at any stage?

#2 not sure.

What type of image were you attempting?

Was it a manual or a scheduled tasks?

Was this to an internal, external or network drive?

Do you get an error if you use the rescue CD?

Thanks for replying Colin,
"#3 did I cancel at any stage", I had left the machine to get on with it, returning after about an hour, there were two windows in front of the main progress window, top one said something like
"unable to open file xyz, operation failed"
There were two option buttons "re-try" and "cancel".
re-try didn't succeed so I hit cancel.
I was then taken to the task & Log screen which shows 23 lines ending with the error described at #22 and at #23 "operation has completed with errors"

I thought (panic) it had overwritten my last image, but searching the target Ext HDD, it's still there!
Not sure what, but some text that I read lead me to believe that this was an incremental backup that had overwritten my previous one, and I had specified FULL backup.
Don't trust this image now, so I want to scrap it and do another full image of all my internal disk partitions: -
"C" System, "D" Recover (actually empty)
"E" Programmes, and "F" Data.
On to my Ext Hdd (USB 2 Connected) where I store only images from my PC and a small XP Lappy.
I have used TI 8 on the lappy for years and never had a problem creating images, (Mind you I've never had to restore either!)
The laughable thing is TI 8 was a magazine freebie, and this copy of TIH 2009 was paid in full and a problem every time I've tried to use it! lol

Regarding the "rescue" CD. I haven't made my own boot CD, as I'm advised that the Installation CD doubles as a bootable CD (I bought the Boxed version not a download) but I've not tried to boot from it

Just noticed that I'm not getting email notifications of replies despite having them selected in both profile and on this thread..strange!

21:54 hrs.
Just done another full image only change to my last attempt was to select "Normal" for the priority...result a "clean" log with no warning or error messages. Yay!

The thing is, in view of all the previous hassle I've had with this software, is there some way to be certain that this validated image is in fact "useable"...short of installing it? :o)

Try mounting or exploring it.

Thanks Colin, I can infact double click on the file in my Ext Hdd, and explore it, does that mean it's OK?
I'm a bit scared of "Mounting" it as I don't really know what I'm doing and don't want to mess it or my OS up!!
For the record, I'm now getting notifications of replies:o)

Just a little feedback.
I tried mounting the image as Colin suggested and browsed around a few of the folders and files, all of which were intact and I couldn't see anything that worried me, so I can only assume that all's well!

However, upon un-mounting the image, I was temporarily left with a totally blank desktop, not even a taskbar!!
Thankfully that re-built it's self after a few heartstopping seconds. lol
Only the sys. tray lacked most of my usual Icons.

As suspected, the sys tray icons returned at next boot but I then noticed that my preference in "MS Updates" set to "notify but don't download" had been re-set to "download and install"...Grrrr
WHY does it do that??

I can't answer why the screen refresh took so long or why the Windows icon database got out of kink.

Dismounting or mounting a tib image shouldn't cause what happened to your system.

Check that your video driver is up to date.

What OS are you using?

Hi Colin,
Story of my life I'm afraid!
If it can't happen, won't happen, then it usually does,..to me!
No harm done, just got force fed todays Vista/Office updates when I'd rather have been asked!
I'm just thankful that it wasn't Vista SP2 that I've not yet installed. lol
My OS is Vista Ultimate.
In view of the above, I tend to be of the "Not broke, don't fix" mentality, not always wise I grant you!
I did however a couple of weeks ago, install an optional update offered by MS Updates for my graphics card driver, checking the version and issue date later, I found it is still the same as the original... 27 Mar 2009 (I built the machine in June 09) so I'm not sure if the updated driver was installed but I've had no graphic problems..that I know of.
