ATI 2010 & Win 7 64-bit

Thread needs solution

A couple of years ago, I purchased and installed ATI 2010, but was plagued with BSOD errors and was only able to get rid of them by completely removing ATI- I first tried disabling some features, but the problem came back.

I would like to have the functionality of the program, so wanted to see if there were still issues with it, or if I'd probably be OK trying again.

Thanks for any input.

The latest build of 2010 is working pretty well. If you still have your recovery CD, create a backup of your computer without ATI on it, then install ATI 2010 build build 7160 and see if it works on your computer. Issues with ATI are often related to low level drivers and specific hardware configuration, not really with the OS. But these issues happen also... You really have to try to verify.

My ATIH2010 installation is to W7HP x64 and it works well--no BSODs of course. I would add to make sure not only to install build 7160, but also to update the SnapAPI drivers.

Since Acronis has made this hideously difficult to find (OMG it seems to me sometimes that all the KB articles do is link to other KB articles, until one gets dizzy/passes out or gives-up entirely!) I've linked to this for you:

Thanks for the replies. I did a full image last night from my boot CD so will give it a shot and see how it goes.
