ATI 2011 Update 1 Estimates

Thread needs solution

I was thrilled earlier today when I saw that Update 1 was finally released.

After installing it and dealing with the resulting issues (ATI 2011 was deactivated and the separate Plus Pack update repeatedly failed to install, needing to be uninstalled and then reinstalled), I kicked off a new backup using the new version.

I was disappointed that not only have the problems with the completion estimates not been fixed, but they've gotten worse. With ATI 2011, neither the backup or restore estimates were anywhere near useful because they were wildly off, and with Update 1 the margin of error has gone up substantially. As a matter of fact, the error for the verification estimate seems to have increased by one full magnitude over the previously already inaccurate estimates: a verification currently in progress is estimated to need another 5 days and 22 hours to complete, but in reality it should be done in less than 2 hours.

Truly pathetic.

I checked the status of the verification and the estimate was down to 2 days, 1 hour and change. Attended to the beeping clothes dryer and returned to the PC a few minutes later, and the verification was done.

It you can't code the estimate correctly, at least give us an accurate progress percentage, but even that isn't working right.
