ATI 2012 messed up backup list

Thread needs solution

Hi All,

I upgraded from ATI 2011 to ATI 2012 a month or so ago. Prior to the upgrade, I had 2 scheduled tasks with several backup versions each. Looking at my list now, it seems that ATI separated the scheduled tasks from their prior backups. Some of the prior backups have a few versions and others are a single version. This messed things up but good, particularly since my backup schedule was setup to maintain 6 backups + the original....

So, how can I edit this list and re-combine everything so I have 2 entries again (with all the versions)?

Thanks!

Trying to combine multiple tasks and backups is not feasable. Your best bet at this point is to create new backup tasks with the settings you would like. Move or rename you existing backup files if you wish to keep them, and then remove the tasks from the backup list, and create your new ones. See this 2012 guide for some excellent guidance in this area thanks to Grover H. http://forum.acronis.com/forum/28705

Thanks James. Can't say I am not disappointed with this aspect of the software... It gives a nice way to manage groups of backups, but upgrading seems to have split the groups. This is so annoying I doubt I will upgrade to 2013 unless their is some really substantial feature I cannot live without, as I don't want to have to keep managing backups outside the tool or having ungrouped backups filling the view...

It would be nice if Acronis could provide a feature to combine these back into groups...

Again, thanks James.

Fred,
Not sure this would work, but you could try.

Use the one click delete of all the unwanted backups as shown at this link.

Then open one of your last backup made with the old version and copy the desired scripts from the backup scripts folder and copy the scripts into the new scripts folder. Then restart TrueImage and the old scripts should become functional.
