ATI 2013 - What can I turn off

Thread needs solution

I use ATI 2013 only for daily backup. I'm running it under Windows XP Pro (SP3). I have disabled "Non Stop Backup" and "Sync Agent" services in Windows services. I have also disabled "Acronis TibMounter Monitor" and "TiMounter Monitor" in the startup sequence.

a) Is this OK? My understanding is that these are not things I need running unless I specifically plan to use them

b) My backup log seems to think it wants Sync Agent running, as it gives me an error (red x) although the backup seems to be successful. Is this error meaningful or should I ignore it?

Thank you.

You can ignore the sync error in the log, it is just complaining that the sync service isn't running.

I would set TibMounter/Monitor to manual, that way you won't have to remember to go into Services and enable them should you want to use either of these two options.

Thanks very much. Just my opinion, but in future versions Acronis should consider allowing users to exercise the option without the application throwing up big red "x's". It's a superfluous distraction.

I can not figure this stuff out yet. I just update to 2014 (I have had 4 previous programs). I messed up with the cloud back up/storage. I want to delete everything and UN-SYNC my computer but I can not find anything to turn the sync off? Can someone advise me, I am lost.

1. Log out from sync by clicking up your email address.

2. Disable the Sync service in Services.msc.

Unfortunately you can't delete the initial sync that you have made easily.

I am sorry but I can not find the Sync services disable and I really do not know what you mean by clicking up on my email address. I am sorry but I guess I need step by step instructions.

I tried to do what you said but nothing was there.

Donald,

I'm changing laptops so don't have TI installed at this second.

I think Grover's Guides (link in left margin) might show a screen shot, or alternatively if you could post a screen shot of your TI GUI, I can see whether or not your log in exists.

To get to Services, did you press the Windows + r buttons, typed in services.msc, the acronis sync service is normally the firstor second entry in the list.
