ATI 2014: Clone OS partition to new SSD

Thread needs solution

Hi everyone,
while I am aware that this general topic has been covered by numerous articles, I still dont feel confident enough to just try my luck with it. The Acronis webhelp didnt cover my special case, as I only want to clone the OS partition to a new SSD.

Currently my setup is as follows:

1TB HDD with
-C: (containing the OS)
-D:
-E:

2TB HDD with
O:
M: containing ATI backups

Running W7 64bit
C: is roughly 100GB, althoug only about 50GB is used atm.
The SSD has a capacity of 256GB

So a detailed step-by-step guide on how to only clone C: to a new ssd would be very much apreciated. Also I got some questions regarding the migration process.

-What do I have to do with the hidden (system reserved) partition? The PC is home built, no recovery image of any kind.

-Do I have to manually take care of stuff like changing the ssd´s alignement? The ssd is factory new and has never been installed before.

- Do you have to prevent windows from trying to boot from the old C: partition after the migration is complete?

Thanks in advance!
