ATI 2014 Nonstop Backup keeps failing...
I'm using the latest version, Build 6673. The Nonstop backup icon is shown in the tray as "stopped" -- I can manually restart it, but it stops a minute or so after it restarts. This has been the case since updating to the new build, a few weeks ago.
Yes, I've reinstalled, and tested various settings, still no go...
The Nonstop backup has a local drive destination; a previous setup I had directed the Nonstop backup to an external drive, resulting in daily failure. Acronis tech support (India) on this was disappointing, to be very kind.
Now that I'm using a local drive destination, and still cannot get the Nonstop backup feature to work reliably, what's next?
Here's the error message I get:
Failed to open backup ... :\Time Explorer Storage ... Make sure the backup location is accessible and contains all versions of the backup. This backup may also be corrupted.
More information about this error and solutions may be available online in the Acronis Knowledge Base.
To access the online resource manually, enter the event code at: http://kb.acronis.com/errorcode/
Event code: 0x00640069+0x0064023C+0x0064028A+0x01E50005+0x01E50015+0x01E5001A+0x000B0421+0x000003E9+0x001703E9
Entering the event codes results in the following message:
"We are sorry
There is no information about this error available now. You can use the links below to search for any additional information that might be available."
In other words, there's no real support, online of offline.
Having used this product for 3 months (current version for 5 weeks) now, it is clear that its nonstop backup feature is now useless.
Would greatly appreciate your help! And, perhaps Acronis support would surprise me with effective technical assistance?
Thank you,
J

Pat -- thanks very much! I am doing just what you're advising... I'm afraid not for the first time, and I hope it will help.
I'm using NSB in addition to weekly drive images. When I started -- in January, with the previous build of ATI 2014 -- I had no problems using NSB.
Just to be very clear: the tray notification showing that NSB is "stopped" is not the intended status, right? I expected it to show that it is "Started" until I stop it.
Also, I'm curious about your comment on large Incremental image backup chains: one of my weekly backups is incremental, and it is large, and seems a bit unusual. Is the incremental approach not a reliable method for ATI 2014?
Many Thanks!
Jordan
