ATI 2014 - Won't complete backup

Thread needs solution

I just installed Acronis True Image 2014 and am trying to backup my C drive.  The installation went fine, but when I try to do a backup of C:, it hangs on "Analyzing partitions...".   See attached screen shot.

After it sits like this for 15 minutes, I hit the "Cancel" button.  It asks me if I'm sure I want to cancel, and I say yes, but then nothing happens.  The screen stays the same, but now the Cancel button is greyed out.

Can anyone help?

Are you absolutely certain that the target disk is attached and is being recognized?

If this task is a carryover from a prior version, you may need to create a new task.

I rebooted my computer, and it worked just fine after that.  No idea what was happening.  Guess I should have tried the reboot before posting here, but it never occurred to me that the fix would be so simple!

Me too, I do not succeed in backing up my files [or system data].
The program stalls at 32%.
The ATI Home version is 11.0 (build 8.082). OS Windows 8.1.
Is the ATI version too old? But then the program wouldn't have started at all.
So far I didn't find the cause. It seems a correct .tib file on the external HD was made in December 2013.
Thanks for help!

For Windows 8.1, you need TrueIImage 2014 or newer.
