ATI 2015 Restoring from a Windows 10 64-bit differential backup to same HD gives boot errors
ATI 2015.
Backup type: Differential backups for bootable C drive. Whole partition.
OS: Windows 10 64-bit.
Restoring to: Same hardware. D drive is a RAID 0 (software RAID created in Windows 7 and works in Windows 10).
Issue: When i select the latest DIfferential backup and restore the drive from a USB drive, am unable to bootup the C drive.
There is only full version of the backup in dated 14th June 2016 and latest differential version in 15th July 2016. Am restoring the July 2016 backup. Originally, the USB to which i backed it up seems to have issues and gave me an a disk read error. So, i copied the backup files to another drive AND the RAID 0 drives. They restore without errors. But, still unbootable.
What am i doing wrong?
The only alternative backup i have was made in 2015, and that restores fine. Except it is Windows 7 !

Ananda, I don't think that we have sufficient information here to be able to advise you on why your restored Windows 10 system is unbootable.
You say you have two backups, one a full from June, the other a differential from July that results in the non-bootable system - have you tried restoring the June 2016 full backup?
I have some concern that you had disk read errors on your original USB drive before you copied the backups to another drive. Even though these restore without error per your post, that remains a concern that there may have been some issue with the backup images.
Did your backup also include the System Reserved and/or UEFI partitions and were these restored?
What are the symptoms for your unbootable Windows 10 restore? What errors are given?

Thank you for responding, and apologies for the delay.
Yes, I tried restoring the full backup first and rebooted. It gives an MBR error and press any key to continue.
I tried to use a Windows 10 USB to repair statup. It fails.
Yes, I backed up all partitions. The acronis restore disk was created under Windows 7. The backed up disk was windows 10. I used the windows 7 PE disk to create the rescue disk for backups being done in Windows 10.
