ATI Home 2010 Trial version

Thread needs solution

I downloaded the ATI Home 2010 trial version yesterday and after installing I was going to back up to a DVD-RW that is connected to my laptop via USB. The only DVD-RW device that ATI recognized was the internal drive that does not work. I could find nothing that would allow me to add the USB drive to the available list. Is this likely to change if I purchase the full product?

Thanks.

Is this from within Windows or from the Rescue CD?

The external DVD drive is showing up in Windows Disk Management with a valid drive letter?

What OS are you using and laptop?

I have an Lenovo Ultrabase which shows itself as a USB attached device, I'll double check to see if TI sees my DVD drive.

You are aware that if you have more than 4GB's worth of data to image, DVD's and Acronis will become a nightmare or a way in which to fill your day, whichever option you prefer :) . Plenty of arm and wrist exercises needed as DVD swapping will become a new Olympic sport.

The laptop is a Toshiba, the drive shows up as drive E: and I have used it very recently writing other DVDs.

The OS is Windows Vista Ultimate.

I was not planning to do a complete image, but to select what I wanted to have backed up, it should all fit within 3-4 DVDs. I know that is possible with the Online Backup, perhaps it is not possible going to DVD, and I'd be wasting my time to try it.

Any help or ideas appreciated. Maybe one of the new 128GB USB flash drives:)
