ATI Home 2010 unable to create (save) tasks
I just (new) installed Acronis True Image Home 2010 (Build 6,053) on a Windows Vista x32 Enterprise SP1 system.
I am *unable* to create any tasks under the "Task Management" area. My intent it to create scheduled tasks as well as tasks that I might run manually. I can walk through the Task creation steps, but at the end of the process nothing appears in the "Schedule task" or "Unscheduled tasks" list (even with "Show all scheduled tasks" or clicking on dates--take me at my word, the tasks are *not* there). Just to make that clear, I'm not even talking about AT not auto-launching and running tasks, just creating the tasks in the first place, so this doesn't seem like a problem with a launch service (permissions, all seem to be started).
Where does ATI attempt to save it's backup tasks (scripts, configs, etc.). I looked in "C:\Users\MyUserID\AppData\Roaming\Acronis" and found an empty "BackupScripts" and "TrueImageHome" (the later with a few XML *.config files).
I am able to *manually* run backups (I've now done so as a "My Data" backup and a "Disk and Partition" backup for my C: drive). So some basics of AT work, but it will not save tasks (setups) on my system.
I've got UAC turned off (would it matter?). I'm running AT under an admin-level account. When I create the tasks I give them my domain credentials (DOM/NAME and password).
As some added observations:
1) ATI has a serious problem with math. During the manual backups listed above, I would watch the remaining backup time alternate between 49-days, 25-min, etc. In the end the backups took an hour or two.
2) ATI has shown a marked tendency to quit (crash?) while leaving itself running in memory. Once that happens, additional attempts to run the program resulted in more copies running but no GUIs. Once I realized this, I would task-manager kill all (e.g. five) copies of the "TrueImage.exe" program(s) and again launch.

That probably explains the problem with the non-saved scripts.
1) Place that ATI wants to save scripts:
C:\Users\All Users\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts
2) What's on my Vista Enterprise drive
C:\Users => No "All Users" tree under this. If I try to manually create one, I get a message telling me that the folder & contents are being moved to "C:\ProgramData". I don't know if this is caused by Win-Vista-Enterprise or something set up by IT.
2b) I also tried creating an "All Users" alias (C:\Users\All Users\ => C:\ProgramData [and under here is Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts]) but ATI still doesn't list the scripts that it has created in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts).
3) Where I found all the ATI scripts I had tried to create. So they're being created, but it looks like ATI can't find them here after that.
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts
======================================================
I tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling ATI, changing from the default "install for all users" to "install only for this user" in the hopes that it would change its script storage path to:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Acronis\TrueImageHome
but no go. It still tries to save its files to the (for this PC) invalid "C:\Users\All Users\..." path, resulting in an inability to see created scripts.
It seems like a registry setting might be a workaround but I've been unable to find it.

GoAWest,

interesting that my W7 installation paths, don't seem to quite match the Acronis list.
Will have to recheck when i get home.
I still think the problem is down to Enterprise version of Windows Vista and the Home version of TI.

Thanks for the pointer to that forum post.
The thing that's interesting is that the Scripts path is *exactly* where ATIH 2010 claims it should be (for Windows Vista. Yes, I'm using the 32-bit Enterprise edition...). And ATI *does* create a *.tib.tis script file at this location when I create the script--it just fails to display it in the "Schedule tasks" (or even "Unscheduled tasks") list after doing so.
Windows Vista x86:
------------------
ATIH 2010:
Scripts: "C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts"
I have submitted a support request to Acronis (days ago) but haven't received any response.

The updated scheduler program from Acronis might help, though it may well delete your old tasks.

Here's what I'm experiencing..
I have 2 x Win7 32bit desktops running ATI2010 b6053. Both were recently upgraded (Custom install) from Vista Home Premium.
Both have the scripts (.tib.tis files) located at C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts
My scheduled saves are overwriting the previous .tib despite specifying Backup Method Full and unchecking the option to Overwrite Previous.
I only perform Full Back-ups (not interested in Incremental or Differentials at this stage) and am not using the consolidation option so it's at the default (ie. off)
There is some inconsistency in the results I'm getting where sometimes I'll get multiple full .tib versions created ok but then it'll overwrite previous on other occasions.
Am still testing to see what exactly is going on but must admit I'm not getting very far and it's starting to do my head in!

There's another forum post on the same topic ("you're not the only one every having a problem...") at:
http://forum.acronis.com/forum/5810
This comment on that post allowed me to see my tasks:
"I'm not sure what "hidden" means, but it motivated me to look for other options within the Acronis GUI. Under Tools > Options > Task Options > Filter, I found a check on "Show only tasks created by a current user." I am the current (and only) user, but I unchecked it. And now I DO see all my tasks in the Scheduled Tasks window."
Doesn't make sense since I'm creating tasks as the "current user" as well as trying to run them as the "current user."
I haven't gone on to see if the now-visible tasks will actually *run* (they haven't so far) but we'll see.

I understand ATI 2010 Home supports Windows 7, but I have ATI v8 that's working perfectly for my Windows XP ringtones laptop. Just bought a new desktop with Windows 7, so want to use ATI v8 to create disk image backups also. I am prefectly ok even if ATI v8 does not run directly under Windows 7 - in other words, if I have to use ATI boot CD to run ATI, I'm fine with it.domain registration
I guess my question is if anyone out there has used ATI v8 boot CD to use ATI v8 to create disk backups for a Windows 7 system? I think it should work, shouldn't it?wireless internet
