ATI HOME 2010 worked for me. Yea!

Thread needs solution

I rejoice! After many painful recovery attempts to restore our HP Vista laptop, I have finally gotten it restored. The key was to use ATI Home 2010.6053.

To recap: I had backed up the computer to a USB HDD with ATIH 10.4942 (circa 2007) just two days prior to messing with my desktop and causing the computer to belly-up. Long story short, I could not recover the computer with ATIH 10.4942 or ATIH 11.8101 as it would always hang. The guys on this Forum tried to help but to no avail. See http://forum.acronis.com/forum/8730 and http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9081 if interested.

Anyway, I contacted Customer Service and they provided the ATIH 2010 (build 6053) ISO file.

With ATIH 2010.6053, this ended up a straight-forward click and wait recover. I am a happy camper!

BTW, ATIH 10 & 11 were projecting their recoveries (if they worked) to run five to eight hours. I was not around when ATIH 2010 finished but it was projecting a 1.5 hour +/- restore. That itself is a big improvement.

Again, thanks to DwnNDrty, GroverH, MudCrab & bodgy from this Forum and
Sanjiv Singh Jauhari from Acronis.

Til nextime… NOT!

Glad to hear you got it working, but ... I'm just curious ... have you waited since 2007 with this problem?
