ATI home 2011 restore cannot find C-disk

Thread needs solution

My system has 2 HD, each in 2 partititions.
I want to restore an image from 2nd HD to C.
when I made the image there were no issues.
if I want to restore now from within windows (XPpro SP3) it starts but then gives the notification: failed in the righthand corner
if I try to restore from a rescuedisk, I see the 2nd partitition of my first HD, but NOT the C: !
the first partitition of my second HD is now called C:... (the name of this partitition is stated, so that is how I know).
in acronis disk director suite there are no issues. C: is primary and activive.
in windows system manager the C: is called standard type, status OK (start).
the 2nd HD 's first partitition is called "system" but I do not know if I have to change this and how to do so.

what to do?

When you use the recovery CD, ATI is running from it on Linux. Linux assigns drive numbers and letters differently. THis is not a bug. Don't try to correct it when you restore. Just make sure you select the right disks/partitions by looking at the partition label, eg "system", and not at the drive letter. The information in the backup is still correct despite this artefact of presentation in the user interface.
