ATI media choice for MAC and PC

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have been using ATI for a number of years and I am very happy with my current ATI 2014 Premium reliably backing up my SSD and Seagate HDD onto my collection of 2Tb WD Passport drives every few months - where everything is formatted in NTFS.

I am going to get a Macbook soon, and I therefore plan to format the WD Passport drives as exFAT so they can be worked on by either my Windows 10 PC or the forthcoming Macbook.

The WD drive will hold the music, docs, and usual stuff that I am working on as I move between computers each day.

Question
What is the best way to backup these 2Tb Passport's used in this way?
i.e. Can I back them up onto another 2TB WD Passport which is also formatted using exFAT?

My underlying fear is that I 'miss something' in my understanding and discover - too late - that there is a limitation I never new about, and my backup is screwed - or is unreliable.

I am so used to the reliability of ATI2014 that nearly all my backups have been stored on a collection of 2TB WD Passport Ultra's which have been formatted as NTFS. However, I don't want to make an assumption that backing up from/or to - an exFAT formatted WD drive will be just as reliable. I have no experience here.

I'd be be grateful for some Acronis support help here, plus any experiences from users who have tried this already.

Pete
