ATI Question for you Thinkpad and Windows 7 Experts
I have a Thinkpad T500 running Windows Vista, and I use ATI to handle my weekly backups. I've not modified the structure of my original hard disk, i.e. it still contains the standard Thinkpad 'S' ad 'Q' partitions. Lately I started to play around with Windows 7, and have installed it on a separate hard disk..that disk just has a single partition. Now, here is my question. If I backup my Windows 7 partition using ATI, can I restore it to the existing 'C' partition on my Windows Vista drive without any adverse effects? I also notice that Windows 7 creates a new hidden partition that is used for certain functions (e.g. Bitlocker)...does that get backed up as well with ATI, and if so, will I also be able to restore that successfully onto my old drive?

Most likely it will NOT correctly restore the master boot record. All of the data will be there but you will NOT be able to boot from the restored drive. This is the problem I have with my Lenovo W700. If I use the Lenovo Rescue and Recovery application the Lenovo restore will correctly work.
A possible solution is to restore the MBR with the Lenovo R&R and then use Acronis Build 5055 (currently later builds will not work for the W7 x64) to restore the rest of the drive, e.g. the data.
