ati v11 cleanup

Thread needs solution

Is there such a thing as a cleanup utility for v11 (not 2011) I want to install 2013 for a family member and wish to completely remove v11 first? I understand that even Revo will leave junk behind?

btw xpsp3

I found this link for version 11 cleanup utility, but it does not list the product, or operating system

Ah, back in the days of brute force uninstalls, when OSes were still unprotected enough that you could slug it out at the system level .... ;)

Note that Acronis Backup and Recovery is a diff prog than ATI11--so the cleaner you cited is not the right one. Ver 11 is so old, I don't think the right cleaner is on the Acronis site anymore. Not to despair. at11 is easier to remove with brute force than the later versions.

On My Computer, go to Services and stop any Trueimage, Acronis or Fomatik services that are running.

run a registry editor and search and remove everything with "trueimage", "Fomatik" or "Acronis"--I like JV16 but use whatever you like.

search and delete any directories in program directories containing "Trueimage" or "Acronis"

If any files/directories are locked, then look here in the old forums
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=192763

afterward, run the free program ccleaner.exe and scan for registry errors and let it fix them by deleting the entries it finds.

This should work for Version 11 (as opposed to version 2011).

This ancient post might help but you'll have to adapt the program directory names for any OS newer than XP:

Before you attempt any cleanup or make over or any new install or uninstall, be sure and take the time to do a full and complete backup of your entire working system as it is currently configured. This is a safety precaution in case something does not come off as expected.

This backup can be done from the CD of either 11 or 2013.
