ATI11 Fails on Selected Files - Blank Error Message

Thread needs solution

I've been using ATI11 to make standard disc images for about a year now on this same system.

Recently I decided that in addition to disc images, I'd also like to back up a specified folder tree.  The job hits about the 20min remaining mark when, all at the same time, six error message windows appear on my screen but they are completely blank.  Even the "OK" in the OK button is blank.  Windows offers to shut down the software, which returns me to the ATI main screen.  When I look at the ATI log for the job that just failed, I see:

  1. Information - the operation started.
  2. Warning - Priority changed to Low priority.
  3. Warning - Failed to determine corresponding partition for path 'F:\'. Backup operation will not snapshot that path.  (F: is the drive containing my selected folder tree.)
  4. Warning - Failed to determine corresponding partition for path 'F:\LightroomData'. Backup operation will not snapshot that path.  (This is the lowest level folder in my selected tree to backup.)
  5. Information - (the details of the job: full backup, from/to, compression, exclude, match criterion)

Then nothing else.  I would expect to see a #6 indicating the failure even if the description is blank, but it's simply not here.

Selecting full disc backups continues to work fine.

Add'l Info:

The source drive F: is an internal SATA drive formatted NTFS.
The destination drive is an external USB drive.

Hello Gavin,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

First of all please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products.

Could you please check the disks for errors?

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

I would also recommend you download free trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 and test it.
