[ATIH 11] Creating bootable media with a backup file

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Acronis True Image Home v11.0 (build 8 101), Windows XP SP3

Tools
> Options:
> Default backup options
> Media components: Place ATIH (Full Version) on media
> Advanced Components:
Acronis Disk Director Full version (recommended)
ATI (Full Version)
are selected

When trying to create a bootable media with a backup file with:

Backup Creation Wizard
>...
> Choose Backup Options: Set the options manually
> Backup Creation Options

the "Media Components" section is missing, i.e.:
place
- Acronis True Image Home (Full version)
- Acronis One-Click Restore
on a media with backup options are missing

Hence, contrary to the ATIH11 pdf manual, unless I missed
something, it's not possible to create a bootable media
with a backup file this way.

When selecting
> Choose Backup Options: Use default options
instead, only a .tib file is created, no trace of ATIH/ADD boot files
to burn with the .tib

Please advise.

Thank you and best regards,
Alan

i somehow thought you had to backup to the hdd first, then burn it to the removable media
you have to backup straight to the removable media, then expected options are available
and atih burns the backup straight on it
grin :->

Alan,
If your backups involves more than 1 or 2 discs, you should consider also using an external disk to store your backups.

After completing your backup direct to cd/dvd, do a test restore of a couple files.
