ATIH 2010 doesnt start - window invisible

i use TrueImage 2010 (Build 7046) (on a Windows XP/SP3 machine) since release.

Recently i've buyed the plus pack and since then TrueImage doesnt start correctly.

I see the small blue window with "Analyzing Partition x.." and "Initializing..." and then the main window remains inivisible and will not repainted. The process "TrueImage" runs und takes ressources, but the main window will not be shown correctly.

I've waited about 60 minutes, but no chance. There is no icon in task bar and no entry in the list in taskmanager, i have to kill the process "trueimage.exe" via process-list in task manager.

Uninstall and reinstall doesnt help, any suggestions? I've also tried to install the 2010-Version without PlusPack - same result.

Or is there a tool to make a "really clean" uninstall?

Why not use one of your old good backups and restore your system back to prior to the plus pack. Doing so might give you a functioning system and a functioning TrueImage.

Going to bed now - it's late my time - just thinking if this has happened since installing the Plus Pack - uninstall it and see if it goes away.

If it does, I wonder if there is a conflict with the BartPE folder - seem to recall someone at sometime found a problem with that.

The 2010 registry cleaner has been withdranw due to some problems with one of the Microsft components.

You say you've tried an install and uninstall.

Uninstall the PlusPack, then try a 2010 repair install. The installer should give you this option when it finds TIH already installed.

If that doesn't work, then we need to look at stopping some of the Acronis services and see if that manages to stop the problem.

The Plus Pack actually doesn't do much in the Windows version, it only works once in the Linux environment, however it does make files available for the ASRM if that is activated.

thanks for your answer,

but my old backups were stored on an NAS, which i recently sended back to the manufacturer for repair. Since i have not the disk space to save all the data from the NAS (600 GB) i have deleted the oldest backups and decided to hold only the four newest backups.

So, no backup before plusplack installation :(.

Hello,

i found two services from Acronis in the services list: "Acronis Nonstop Backup service" and "Acronis Scheduler2 service", stopped one by one (and both) - nothing better.

What else can i do? Or are there some more services from Acronis?

If you stop scheduler2 True Image won't work!

Is there any other software that you installed or an installed program updated around the time everything started going pear shaped?

Did you try the repair install?

yes, i've tried the repair install, with no effect.

Yes, many :). That's the maybe the problem, but i cannot find out which :(.
