ATIH 2010/2011 Can I work during imaging?
While creating a full disk image of my C:\ drive in Windows 7 using ATIH 2010 or 2011 (latest builds), can I simultaneously continue to work on my computer, say even be in the middle of editing a Microsoft Word file on my C:\ drive or browse the internet? Or do I need to cease all activity on the computer until the disk image is completed and verified?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Even if the backup is set at low priority, expect significant slow-downs while continuing to use the PC -- file system operations are like that. So if you click on something and it seems frozen, jsut wait a while and the PC will probably respond as you intended. Sometimes the wait can cause a program to issue a timeout error message, in which case, clicking on retry, if the error message window offeres that chhoice, is often sufficient.

Interesting thread. I'm now using 2010 after several "questionable" releases of ATI since v7, and am still sufficiently paranoid about making good backups (that don't fail to verify when attempting Restore) that I don't backup from Windows, I always reboot to the Linux startup version and make my images offline.
Good to see (honestly) so much confidence in Acronis' snapshot manager which AFAIK is responsible to allow ATIH to make backup images even when files are in use. I guess without it a lot of things I've never used, such as scheduled and nonstop backups, would not be possible...

I've never had a problem with that was traceable to ATI running while in Windows except for one small program conflict regarding ATI2011 and Roborform, which had an easy workaround and was fixed in the next version. More commn probs are with the linux drivers from the bootCD -- however, if you can't backup with the bootCD, then you probalby won't be able to restore with it either so good to find out if it works on your set up..
