ATIH 2011 Long Validation Times

Thread needs solution

Hi

I am running acronis on a Windows 7 Prof 64 bit. Acronis is taking 12 hours to validate a 7 min 500k differential back up

Any way to speed this up?

Thanks

Tim

Tim,
When Acronis validates the backup, it validates the differential and the corresponding full. OVerall, validation takes about the same time as the backup itself (to adjust expectations).
Given that, is the validation taking too much time?

Hi,

I experience the same problem. I also use Windows 7 en Acronis TI 2010. My PC has an Intel i7 processor.
An incremental backup of Users and Data is about 3.3 GB and lasts 10 minutes. The validation process lasts approximately 90 minutes! During the validation process the PC slows down terribly, even as the priority of TI 2010 is set to low.
A full backup takes about 2 hours and is about 190 GB and surprisingly, the validation process lasts also 90 minutes.

So, how I can speed up everything?

When you validate an incremental backup, the validation goes through the *entire* backup, each increment and the last full.

You can skip right after the backup and schedule as a separate task when the computer is not busy.
