ATIH 2012 File Backup - I can't turn off folders in file backup

Thread needs solution

I just upgraded to ATIH 2012 from 2011. I am running Windows 7 Professional. I do a weekly backup to DVD that contains only the files I can not afford to lose. I store this disk off site for safety. The files are stored in the My Documents folder. I turn off the folders with stuff less important files, like videos and photos to reduce the size of the backup. When I have picked everything I want to save, ATIH shows an estimate of 175 MB. When I do the backup, the file created is almost 13 GB. When I review the backup file, I find all the folders I turned off are backed up! In other words, the whole My Documents folder is backed up, which includes the photos and videos I turned off in the beginning.

ATIH 2011 didn't do this, so it seems there is an issue with the file backup in the 2012 version.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance for your replys.
