ATIH 2012 Hangs Windows 7 - Must Power Cycle to Clear

Thread needs solution

And now a new and much more frustrating issue: my regularly scheduled Disk Image, or any manual run of Disk Image, hangs Win7 completely. I can replicate consistently - just run the Backup job. The process appears to tun until the very end, the Win7 status icon shows the small "window" icon with an arrow pointer to indicate it is running. Then nothing - no keyboard, mouse or any other action, no drive access indication, just complete hang.
I have asked for a Refund - we'll see if that Acronis function works :-(

YOu could chack the ati log to see if it reports any error. ?That might be helpful to find out what the problem is. Or generate a system report which could be helpful to tech support in tracing you problem.

If your' runnign the backup from within windows, try it with the bootcd to see if it persistis. IF you're doing it with the bootcd, then try form within windows.

Run chckdsk /r to ensure there is no problem on your hdisk.

You could use msconfig.exe to dieable all non-microsoft services and all startup programs except for acronis/ati and see if the problem persists. If not, then it's a program conflict. If it does, then it's most likely either a driver issue or a bad hdisk or bad memory
