ATIH 2012 recovering files that require password-SMF

Thread needs solution

Hi,

There is two parts to my questions:

1. I backed up an image of my computer sometime ago and now I went back trying to recover some files by using "Image mount". I mount the image no problem and I can browse it to an extent, When I click on that old folder containing the items of interest, it tells me that I am not authorized. This is a new computer and I am trying to recover some files from the backup of the old computer. Is there a way around it? I am not sure I even remember my old computer's account password. I simply need some files off of that.

2. second question. I created a back up of a folder (130GB). I went bac to mount that image , it says that it is not supported for this kind of backup. so does it have to be a partition backup to mount it as an image?

Thanks,

Zeus

#2. Yes, you cannot mount a file/folder backup.
From within Windows Explorer, try dbl clicking the tib file; or try right clicking the tib file and choose open.

1. Try same as #2. If this does not work, then you may need to take permission using you new computer password.
This may help.
