ATIH 2014 Bugs Thus Far...

Thread needs solution

Found the following issues so far. The last one has already been mentioned in its own thread (see link).

Funny how Acronis has SO much trouble getting defaults to stick/display properly. WHY?!!

01. Selecting "Disk and partition backup", the opened window "Disk Backup" has "Settings" section which shows Backup Scheme: "Incremental" even though the Default Settings are set/saved for Single Version.
Clicking on this (Incremental) opens up a config window (Disk Backup Options) which after all shows "Single version scheme" as being selected.
If you then OK the chosen options, Settings->Backup scheme shows as "Single version".
Cancel out and re-click "Disk and partition backup", scheme still shows as "Single version".
Cancel out and re-click "Disk and partition backup" again, scheme once more reverts to showing as "Incremental", back to where we started!!!

02. When selecting "Disk and partition backup", in the Settings section the Schedule ALWAYS shows as Weekly. It seems this cannot be defaulted to "Do not schedule"/off. You have to manually turn this off every time you make a new backup.

03. Acronis Recovery tab does not show/appear on x64 install when viewing a file's properties. The tab does show/operate on the x86 install of ATIH 2014.
Setting is under Integrate True Image into Windows->select/tick "The Acronis Recovery tab in the Properties window".
This behaviour has been mentioned/confirmed here:- http://forum.acronis.com/forum/44472

Hello Mark,

I'll answer point-by-point:

1) It's a GUI issue for now, settings itself will be correct, if you  save backup task even with ostensibly incremental backup scheme. Moreover, after you execute your first backup with setting, which were chosen as default, the described behavior shouldn't be reproduced anymore.

2) Scheduling options are not supposed to be saved as default.

3) Issue was reported and our development team is working on it. It will be fixed as soon as possible. Please follow this thread http://forum.acronis.com/forum/44472 , I'll update it when get any news.

Thank you.

Anna,
On item #2, if I remember correctly, the default value on scheduling was "off".
Now, the defautl is "on" with a specific schedule chosen.

Many of us prefer the 2013 setting with the default being "off".

Thank you, Grover!

I'll forward your feedback to product management and it will surely be considered by them.

Best regards

Hi Anna.
Thanks, I got your email regarding these points too...

I have to add my voice to GroverH in that in 2013 the default was "Off" and was preferable that way!

And yes, I think point #1 still has an outstanding/unresolved GUI issue which can confuse users.

Thanks,
Mark.

Just going to go to the side here. Do we have an ETA to when x64 WinPE 4.0 will be supported? For those of us using Secure Boot having only x86 available is an issue and this also locks out systems where disabling Secure Boot isn't possible.

Secure Boot enforces same platform boot. x86 binaries on x86 platform and x64 binaries on x64 platform.

Hello Robert,

sorry for the delay with answer!

Currently our development is not working on support of WinPE x64, because x64 hardware is generally supported by WinPE x32.

But of course I'll forward your wish with your description to developers and it will be surely considered.

Thank you.

Using Acronis 2015 on Win 7. When attempting to close down laptop , it freezes with "operations is progress etc' ....message . This persists. Only 'solution is to take out battery, which I've done several times in the past few weeks . This only started after I installed Acronis 15---what's the solution to prevent this ?
