ATIH2011 under XP hangs after clicking on 'Browse for Backup'

Thread needs solution

ATIH2011 becomes unresponsive when I click on "Browse for backup" from the main screen. ATIH will successfully open a backup file if I click on the file in Windows Explorer. I've tried the last two versions of ATIH2011. My copy of XP is up to date.

Anyone else encounter this?

Since I updated to Build 6868, ATIH2011 has crashed on me three times while browsing for a backup. Twice, I got this dialog:

Viscual C++ Runtime Error

Once, I got this dialog:

Acronis True Image Home 2011 has encountered a problem.

In all three cases, the crashes were foreshadowed by the absence of the pop-ups you usually get by hovering the mouse pointer over the date icons in the "Disks and partitions" tab you get by selecting "Explore all versions". This is on Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3.

Although the GUI dies, TrueImage.exe continues to run. I've had to kill it from Task Manager in order to restart ATIH2011.

Did you try to uninstall, reboot and reinstall?

It is hard to diagnose these kinds of software platform issues (dll hell, etc.).

If a simple reinstall doesn't work, you can try a uninstall/cleanup/reinstall process. Beyond that, you will have to get support from Acronis.
