ATIH2012 Full and complete backup of Windows 7?

Thread needs solution

I am wondering is it possible with ATIH2012 to completely backup the drive containing both Windows and the EFI System partitions/slice such that should the drive fail, I can just restore them both and have an operational system?

Everything I have read so far is leaning to a "NO", and I am just wanting to clarify this.

You should be able to "clone" to another HDD and have just that. In fact I have done it and booted from the clone..works fine.

When you say "clone" do you mean a disk backup to an archive, and then restoring that archive?

Cloning is a sector by sector copy of your drive, so you would need a drive of the same capacity or larger to clone to. No archives or imaging involved, straght copy of the actual disk layout.

I don't know whether you can image an EFI drive as you want to do, and i don't ahve a drive set up like that to try it out for you.

I should have also mentioned that my system has a UEFI Bios, and I have already noticed how different Windows 7 behaves because of it - to build a bootable USB stick, it was necessary to create a Virtual Machine because the software to create a bootsector does not support UEFI Bioses.

Now bersion 2012 is supposed to do so, but the most weird thing is that there is _no_ occurrences of the word 'UEFI' in its userguide. Let alone a nice table like this http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11/#14021.html

Hello all,

Thank you for taking time to contact us.

Acronis True image Home 2012 supports the UEFI systems.

Thank you.

Thanks for that info, but to clarify: does that mean I can do a complete backup of all partitions/slices necessary to boot the system and at a later date perform a restore without having to run any of the Windows brand recovery methods?
