Attribute List Corrupted

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have installed Acronis True Image 2010 into my maptop where Windows XP SP3 is installed.

I want to Clone the image of my internal Hard Drive (C NTFS) onto an external USB hard drive (FAT32).

I select the source and target hard drives. It asks then to reboot the machine. But when it reboots, it says "Attribute List Corrupted" and does even not start cloning the internal hard drive.

I would like to know why?

Please adivse

Many thanks
Regards

john sir,
I would recommend a change of procedures.
The best chance of success is to perform the clone when booted from the TI Rescue CD.
Also, if Lenova/IBM laptop, you need to place the target disk its intended boot position and relocate the source disk to elsewhere such as a caddie or external enclosure before attempting the clone. This is referred to as a "reverse clone."
After completion, shutdown and reboot with only the new drive attached.

There is a risk to your working source disk when performing a clone. My recommendation would be to perform a disk option backup and then restore the backup onto the new blank drive. Using this procedure, your master is not at risk as it is not attached during the restoration. Restoration is still performed when booted from the TI Rescue CD.
