Authentication Settings
From reviewing many, many, many past posts over the previous 4 or so years I see this isn't a new issue, but not one for which I've seen a solution that works for me.
I'm using build 6613. I've never had a problem with Acronis in previous versions going back several years and there's been no change in my system.
I'd like to use a networked drive as my backup target. I've set the target to "share" with no user name or password required. "Everyone," "administrator," and my target PC's user all have read/write authorization. Every time I try to access the target, I'm asked for authentication settings. Windows (7) can find the target and access it with no difficulties. Curiously, Acronis was able to delete all my previous backups from the target folder without asking for any authentication (oops!) so clearly some modules can find that target without authentication. I don't have to log in on any of my PC's. No passwords or usernames anywhere.
As I mentioned I never had this problem prior to the current version of Acronis True Image. I've ordered a new external hard drive which I'll be able to share around my PC's, which I hope will work, but this is mysterious.
I appreciate any help anyone might be able to provide!
