Autocleanup is not cleaning up old backups
I originally didn't have this option on, but when I noticed I was using almost 1tb from a 120gb ssd it was activated. My issue is that acronis isn't removing the old backups, and now it's failing nightly.
I have it set to the following:
*Created a Full version every 5 incremental versions
*Store no more than 1 recent version chain
I did have that option to 5, but realized I was keeping 5 (backup + 5 incremental) version chains, which would completely kill my nas.
Thanks in advance,
./Andrew

My suggestion is to start a new task and set your options as you wish. Editing an existing task, esp. if changing cleanup rules gives unreliable results. See Grover's guide (Thanks Grover) http://forum.acronis.com/forum/28705 for more details and tips on sucessfully creating the task.

I'm having the same problem. Daily backup. Tried different settings under cleanup and it does not remove backups and the disk fills up and backup stops working because the disk is full.

Did you set a limit for backups, such as a number of backups, an age, or total space used? Grover's guide is worth reading:

Terry,
If you can post a screenshot of the Acronis backup settings, that would be great.

Terry,
Once the task has created the wrong number of backups, my recommendation is to stop using the task and start a new task pointing to a new empty storage sub-folder. Editing the task will not fix the problem. As to why this occurred, it is difficult to say but
Editing a task can cause the task to perform unexpectedly or not at all.
Instead, Create the task with the desired settings pointing to a new sub-folder and then do not perform further edits.
If edits become necessary, cease to use the old task and create a correct new task and point to a new empty sub-folder for a storage location.
A great deal of progress has been made in to correct this problem of cleanup. The 2013 version has the most fixes on this issue but the last version of 2012 also had fixes. If you are not using the most current build for your version, you should consider updating.
To get the backup scheme to function at its best, I suggest you AVOID using the restriction about number of elapsed days and avoid the use of disk size quota's. While these may work, I have found that keeping x number of backups works the best of all those settings I have tried.
Look at the illustrations in this link which is based on keeping x number of backups.
http://forum.acronis.com/forum/28705
If you want only full type backups, adjust the example in figure 11-Full
If you want full plus x incrementals, adjust the 11-Inc illustration and change the 6 and 4 to your needs.
If you want full plus x differentials, adjust the 11-Dif illustration and change the 6 and 4 to your needs.
As for your excess backups, ultimately, you will have to begin some deletion but I would not delete any until you have proven replacements. Point your new tasks to new empty sub-folders and do NOT mix two tasks into one storage folder. A separate storage folder for each task is my personal recommendation.
