Back up Drives are Almost Full

Thread needs solution

I have a Drobo with almost 20TB disk space and I'm backing up ~8TB of data. Today the Drobo is telling me I almost out of disk space. I looked at the file where Acronis is writting to and there is a REAL long list of files going back to June, 2014. Are all these files required? What should I do to free up disk space?

Thanks,

Gale

This could depend upon the type of backups you have been creating.

Sort the storage folder into date/time sequence and  so they appear as a listing of files in date/time order.

Post the picture so we have more information.

When creating your next backup task, create the backup scheme as custom and choose automtic cleanup so the program will do its own cleanup of oldest chains without individual intervention.

An example of the expected attachment.

Thanks for the reply!

The list of files is very long, how do I post it? I saved it as a word doc but I don't see how I can attach it. Also, how do I "create the backup scheme as custom and choose automtic cleanup so the program will do its own cleanup of oldest chains without individual intervention"? I couldn't find that option.

I'm almost ready to erase all the files and uninstall Acronis as I'm also backed up on "Backblaze" but I would like to have a local backup as it would be much faster restoring files if I have a problem.

Thank for your help!

See this link by GroverH https://forum.acronis.com/forum/100416. Also peruse Grover's Guides http://forum.acronis.com/forum/3426 lots of good information. See also https://forum.acronis.com/system/files/10-1full--custom_keep4.jpg

Gale,

As per user Thomas, this link will illustrate examples GH11, GH12 and GH13 on how to create a task with automatic cleanup.

All of this link can be beneficial.

Note when writing a reply, just below your reply is an option to attach a file or picture.

click the "File attachments"

Click Browse and find your file on  your computer

Click attach to save the file to your posting.  If it is too large, you may have to zip it.

My backup drive is almost full. I have 2016 version. I am trying to do cleanup following Grover's great guides, but the UI doesn't even come close to resembling his screen shots.

All I see is Schedule, Backup Scheme, Notifications, Exclusions, Advanced.

None of those things are on Grover's instructions!

Where can I find instructions for this version on how to clean up backup drive and modify scheme?

Thank you!
