Back up on HDD taken of site

Thread needs solution

Hi

I am new to Acronis and have just purchased ATIH 2011.

I would like to back up a work PC to two external hard drives - (one for me and one for another staff member) to take of site every evening. I would like to be able to do a full system restore from either drive in case one gets lost. We are both in the office on different days.

Could experienced users recommend the best settings on ATIH 2011. Would Acronis be able to differentiate between the 2 external drives when they are attached to the PC either separately or simultaneously so that it would not mix up the backup version chains?

Also which type of backup would other users recommend - differential vs incremental?

Thanks

Tim

If you just want backups in two places I'd set up two tasks. This makes it less liekly that the ATI database will get confused aboutn which backup is which. IF you have both disks attached at the sme time when you backup, then they shouldhave two diff drive letters assigned and ATI should be able to distinguish the two.

Thanks Scott

Usually only one or other drive will be connected not both at the same time. How can I make Acronis recognise each external drive as separate?

Tim

I would assign diff drive letters to each drive. It should then treat each drive as entirely diff drives.
