Back Up Problem
Hi, I think I may have a Back Up problem - I have Build 6514 and run Win 8, 64 bit Acronis Plus Pack and when I open Acronis - go to -
Disk and Partition Back Up tab - select the 'System Reserved' and 'Acer C' drives and my Destination is an external HDD of 2Tb, on 'F' drive - give it a name or date and begin the Back Up - after about 1/2 hour the time it is going to take to complete goes to over 20hours - which is ridiculous!
Am I supposed to also select the PQSERVICE to Back Up as well?
It says I have used 14.9 GB of 20GB
C drive says I have used 149.6GB out of 921.5GB
Surely the Back Up time should be faster than over 20 hours????
Any ideas of what may be wrong?

To be able to restore your disk "AS IS" you should switch to Disk mode (on the right hand corner of the partition selection window) in True Image when creating your backup task.
This will back up ALL the partitions on the disk, as well as the Disk signature and MBR/track 0 (if MBR disk) insuring a full system recovery if necessary.
If you wish, you can create the Acer Recovery Disks, and then eliminate the PQSERVICE partition to free up space. If you delete this partition, you will only be able to replace it from your Acronis Backup (if you perform a full disk backup before deleting it).
The time to back up your system is related to many factors, but the most important are the speed of your system, the speed of your connection to your backup device (additional internal drive, USB 2.0 vs. USB 3.0, eSATA, Firewire, NAS, network share, etc.) and the speed of both the source drive as well as the destination drive. Additional options in True Image can increase the backup time. Selecting sector-by-sector (usually not necessary), high compression rates, and encryption, could also have an impact.
The estimates for the backup time will be mostly incorrect (an issue that Acronis True Image products has had for years) as it progresses through the backup task. Allow the task to finish to see how long the process actually takes.
If you have validation turned on, the backup will take considerably longer as it will be performing two steps - the backup first, and then the validation of the backup file.

Ah yes, it is connected to a hub - I will change it to a direct USB port and try again. The HDD also has it's own electric supply plug.
No I did not notice the 'sector by sector' option - will look again.
Thank you for your reply and assistance.
