Back up run at incorrect/random times.
Hi guys,
I've done a search but nothing really relevant showed up.
I run ATIH 2011 on a WIN7 HP PC. All updates applied.
I have run the Acronis Scheduler #467 to supposedly "correct or rectify" a possible timing error.
I removed the old schedule, & created a new one, but it's still running at strange times.
eg; I set it for a full back-up with incremental afterwards & I did the first one manually.
(Scheduled for the 1st Monday of the month @ 11.30 P.M.)
This full manual one completed successfully.
Last Monday (7th May), it did the incremental back up at the correct time.... But it just tried to do another one today, (Friday 11th May) at 11.00 P.M.
Why is it so?
Any ideas please?
Many thanks.

You can:
- export your backup settings,
- uninstall ATI,
- reboot,
- import your backup settings.
You can also download the Acronis schedule manager, ZAP all your tasks following the instructions. http://kb.acronis.com/content/1859

Do a file search for the "Scripts" folder where the tasks are stored.
Sorry to be so dumb, but where are these stored?
I am relatively new to ATIH & never had any errors for over 18 Months or so.
Ta.
[edit]
I just un-installed ATIH 2011, rebooted etc. & now I cannot re-install it because I receive an error message when I enter my registration number.
"Wrong rego number......"
I even tried it with the new v2012 it had me D/L......& it did the same. Cannot register it with the supplied "trial serial number" either.
Darn!
Where to now please guys?

As for where is the scripts stored, use your Windows search function and enter Scripts into the search window.
My suggestion for a fix to your current situation would be to used an recent backup and restore your drive C back to what it was at time of the backup. Once you are stable again, you can decide what you want to do.
Refer to item 3 at this link for assistance in restoring.

Hi GroverH,
There were no Script files rel; to Acronis to be found.
I used the Acronis Recovery disc that I created when first installed & now have Acronis 2011 back.
Thanks.
There was a slight glitch with the recovery though......It seems as though I may have missed a step, coz I had to do a System Restore as well, due to a missing file
I lost a few new installs/updates but nothing too serious.......I hope.
Windows complained about an error at start-up & suggested a Repair, which was absolutely useless.
Anyway, I'm up & running again & will contemplate over a cuppa & a chocolate biccie or 2, as to what to do next.
Will see how Acronis decides to handle the next "scheduled back-up." ;)
Thanks again.

There is a very good chance the backup will either "error out" as the target folder may contain backups which the newly restored program does not know about.
My suggestion would be to create a new task pointing to an empty sub-folder and start your backup series all over. Retain the old backups.
Maybe review my reference link again (post #4) so see what might have gone wrong.
If the Acronis program shows backup task waiting to be run, you should find these tasks listed in the "scripts" folder.
One place you can look--
Scripts: "C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts"

Hi GroverH,
I had to browse to & add all the back-ups on my "G" drive, coz it couldn't locate them.
All is well.
The scripts show that the last back-up completed O.K. & there is a confirmation file as well.
The only thing that appears to be missing from the UI are the screen shots, so no big deal.
Thank you.
