Is back up still good with errors?

Thread needs solution

I get the following error when I run my backup image:

Details: Failed to read data from the disk.
Failed to read from sector '480,483,579' of hard disk '1'.
Failed to read the snapshot. (0x10C45A)
CRC error (0x100155): ⎂Retry/⎂Ignore/Ignore ⎂All/⎂Cancel

if I ignore, the task will complete and the log says the operation "completed with errors" but the date on the calendar is red indicating that the backup failed.

Anyone know if the backup image should still be good, even though it will be missing data from that one sector?

Hello Mark,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

In case the image can be validated successfully using Acronis True Image validation tool than it’s safe. The source of the issue can be either file system error with bad blocks on the drive or SnapAPI drivers malfunction.

Please check the partition for errors:

  • Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd);
  • Enter the command:

chkdsk DISK: /r

where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

I checked your account and see that you are using Acronis True Image Home 2010. Please use the following KB article to download and install SnapAPI drivers for Acronis True Image Home 2010.

Let me know the results.

Thank you.
